MANGA SCANS
As you might expect, these are pictures from the DBZ manga. Actually, they are from the Viz Translated manga, mostly issues 6 and 7, where Gohan's training begins.
NOTE: The Viz manga aren't flopped like regular comics. Instead, you read them right to left, in the original Japanese way. In other words, you read in reverse. It takes a little getting used to, but hey...

PICCOLO AND GOHAN'S FIRST ENCOUNTER
Piccolo lays it out for Krillin and co: I'm taking the kid, don't wait up.
Gohan refuses to wake up, so Piccolo wakes him up in his own, abrupt way...
Now Gohan won't quit crying. Piccolo tells him how his dad kicked the bucket. Bad idea. :-P
Piccolo lays it out flat for Gohan, and explains everything.
Gohan doesn't believe Piccolo when he says he has power. Piccolo decides to prove it....>.<
This one page explains why Piccolo isn't a full-time babysitter. And Gohan screams a lot.
Gohan's power bursts loose. Pity the mountain.

Gohan's very confused, and Piccolo begins to think "Uh-oh..."
Gohan wants to train with his daddy, but unfortunately, he's dead at the moment...
Gohan asks what he does for the training, and is very puzzled by the answer.
Piccolo says "Toodles", and leaves Gohan with an extremely cryptic farewell message.
GOHAN GOES OOZARU
This scene always gives me the giggles. Try putting yourself in Piccolo's shoes for this one. You're babysitting a little wimpy kid, who suddenly turns into a gigantic, rampaging monkey for no apparent reason. What would you do under those circumstances? And no offense to Piccolo, but I almost think he deserves this, after the way he biffed Gohan at that cliff earlier.
Gohan finally goes to sleep, but wakes up when he sneezes.
Gohan looks up and sees the moon...uh-oh...
The BaBUMP-ing intensifies, and Piccolo starts to wonder what the heck is going on...
Gohan finally goes oozaru. As a friend of mine would say, Uh-oh, spaghetti-o!!
*NEW!!* LET THE TRAINING BEGIN!!!
I'm rooting for Gohan. Six months of living alone in the wilderness can sure do a lot for you, huh?
The actual training starts!! Go Gohan, go!!! Too bad his feet are so damn small...
Gohan takes another swipe at Piccolo. Look out behind you!!!
Ouch >_<. Gohan starts complaining, so Piccolo zaps him...

PICCOLO AND GOHAN, JUST HANGING
I love this scene, just because it's one of the only scenes you get to see of Piccolo and Gohan just plain hanging out together. It also focuses a bit on their developing relationship. Piccolo also develops a habit of cutting people off when they get onto the subject of him being a nice guy ^_^.
Gohan groans in pain *ouch!* while Piccolo comments on his new manly status.
PICCOLO'S DEATH
I'm not going to describe these, because if I try to do that I'll take away the tension. The only thing I'll say is that page six explains exactly why I detest Nappa. Argh, that muscly, speedo-wearing freak makes me so mad!! Anyway, just click on the numbers, and have a tissue or two handy:
I actually tried translating this one. I think this translation is a wee bit off, as I'm not that great at French, and I couldn't find some of hte words in my dictionary...^^;;;...and I think that when they say "Awful", they're referring to Babidi. That seems to be a nickname for him (can't say I disagree). Awful was just the best translation I could get, Affreuse means something along the lines of Awful, Hideous, Dreadful. anyway, here goes!
Vegeta: "It's you, Boo? With your awful ___ ( something, I don't know what a tete de tare is! sorry!) You dirty monster! You had the nerve to kill Son Gohan?!"
Piccolo: "!!"
Trunks: "What? What did my father say?"
Piccolo: "Son Gohan..."
Boo: "Awful, what did he say?"
Babidi: "He said "ugly". He said that you are not beautiful."
