OTHER PICCOLO/GOHAN-ESQUE RELATIONSHIPS

Gohan and Piccolo aren't the only two people out there who've got a unique relationship. Here are some other Piccolo/Gohan-ish relationships I've found.

SAILOR PLUTO AND CHIBI-USA OF SAILOR MOON

freaky, ne?So far, this hits #1 on the similarities chart. Tall, aloof person with a connection to the color green becomes attatched to younger, extremely cheerful and pure-hearted offspring of the main character. How freaky is that? Heck, apparently Pluto even goes so far as to Do a Piccolo (see the bottom of the Sentimental Nonesense section if you don't know what I'm talking about, here.) at one point. I could be wrong on that one though, I'm not a strict Moonie.

TASUKI AND CHIRIKO OF FUSHIGI YUUGI

awww....^^Okay, there's a very big chance I could be wrong on this one. I've hardly seen any of the Fushigi Yuugi vids, and they just now got Chiriko in the manga. But from some stuff I've read on the net, these guys have got a cute relationship too. And yes, Chiriko IS a guy. Apparently, Chiriko looks up to Tasuki, Chichiri and Mitsukake as collective role models. In return, Tasuki feels obliged to protect li'l Chiriko on occasion. I think at one point he even sheilds Chiriko's eyes when Miaka and Tamahome start snogging in public ^^;;;;. And I know that Tasuki is really, REALLY sad when something...ahem...okay, how to put this without spoiling anything...when something really bad happens to Chiriko near the end.

CHICHIRI AND CHIRIKO OF FUSHIGI YUUGI

no da!Umm.... see above. Basically the same, but as far as I know, Chichiri doesn't sheild the young'un's eyes from corruption. Also, Chichiri may see taking care of Chiriko as a way of redemption for previous occurances in his life... *sniffle*...poor guy! Sorry Mitsukake fans, I don't know enough about him to include him here...

SANOSUKE SAGARA AND YAHIKO MYOJIN OF RUROUNI KENSHIN

nani o?! These two get honorary mention just 'cuz they're so damn cool ^^. Okay, so maybe they aren't strictly Gohan/Piccolo-ish. Neither has Done a Piccolo. In fact, Sanosuke did almost the complete opposite of a Piccolo, by using Yahiko as a projectile and quite literally throwing him into the midst of battle. But seriously, these two do have a cool friendship, they regularly mock each other, and Sano makes a habit of wonking Yahiko over the head, especially whenever he makes fun of him and Megumi. These two get the award for most realistic sibling relationship. Trust me on this one, I'm experienced.

MIRAI GOHAN AND TRUNKS OF DRAGONBALL Z

hoo-hah!Wouldn't you know it, just as I was about to finish up this section, I came across this piccie, which brought back lots of memories from the Trunks special *sob!*. Basically, instead of Piccolo being the trainer and Gohan being the trainee, Gohan's all grown up, and Trunks is the trainee. Since everybody else was sorta dead, these two just got left together. Since everybody else was dead, Trunks didn't have anybody other than Gohan to be a role model for him. I mean, c'mon, he wasn't going to go to Bob, who runs the gas station down the street, look up at him and go "You know what, Mr? You're my hero!". Gohan does several Piccolo's in the Trunks special, and gets his ass royally whooped in every single one. Eventually he...he dies *bursts out crying* I HATED THAT PART!!! I cried soooo much!!!... But at least this prompts Trunks-kun to go Super Saiyajin...

*NEW!* THE GRINCH AND CINDY-LOU WHO OF THE GRINCH WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS

This one's to get in the holiday spirit, don'tcha know ^_^. And when I say the Grinch and Cindy-Lou Who, I'm referring to them in the live-action movie, not in the real thing, where she was no more than two. Anyway, these two ended up having an eerily similar relationship. I mean, c'mon, the grinch is a grouchy green guy who acts like he hates everybody. Cindy-Lou Who is an innocent young girl and the only person in town who vouches for the guy. By the end of the story, the Grinch becomes nice, and as they say, his heart grew two sizes that day. Gotta love that!

*NEW!* WASHU HAKUBI AND TARO OF TENCHI MUYO

I'm going purely on what I've read on the internet, and pictures I've seen for this one. Anyhoo, Washu was a bit of a recluse, living in an alternate dimension underneath Tenchi's staircase. Then Tenchi got stuck babysitting his baby cousin Taro. Tenchi and the gang all proved to be extremely incompetent, Taro practically ran circles around them. Finally, Taro wandered into Washu's alternate dimension. Washu, completely absorbed in her work, didn't notice until Taro started pulling on her hair. After seeing how utterly incompetent the others are at babysitting, she took  it upon herself to take care of the little guy. Doing so rekindled past feelings about her first child, and revealed a new side to her character. Heck, Taro even started calling her "Mama". She hasn't done a Piccolo, but you can bet that if Taro was in danger, she'd be the first one there to save him.

*NEW!* RIN AND SESSHOU-MARU OF INU-YASHA

This is actually a Doujinshi pic of these two, but it was the only pic I could find of them together!I really didn't used to like Sesshou-Maru, but I think I'm warming up to him a little more now. I thought he was just another evil pretty-boy villian who wouldn't die, but now I'm starting to have second thoughts, mostly because of this little girl named Rin. Rin makes her first appearance dumping a bucket of water over Sesshou-Maru's head.  Sesshou-Maru doesn't really think much of her at first, even though she helped him after a battle by...um...dumping water over his head, but when Rin dies after being beaten to death by a group of villagers, Sesshou-Maru comes by, finds her corpse, and brings her back to life using a magic sword. From that day on, Rin-chan devotedly follows Sesshou-Maru around wherever he goes. Nobody really knows why Sesshou-Maru brought Rin back, after all, he was supposed to be evil, right? Evil guys don't hang around with little girls, do they? Was he....*gasp* grateful? Or is Sesshou-Maru really evil at all? This question has yet to be answered....
